Harmer's Town Art Center
What’s Coming to Harmer’s Town
Since Graw Alley opened to the public in 2023, we have been hard at work planning and securing funds to continuing to grow the vision for the Harmer's Town cultural campus.
The future Harmer’s Town Art Center building is being designed as more than a place to view art. It will be a place to create, learn, gather, explore, and connect—bringing new life to a historic property while creating a lasting cultural destination in Havre de Grace.
Gallery & Exhibit Space
A 1,500-square-foot gallery will provide a dedicated setting for exhibitions, featured artists, special collections, and rotating shows—creating new opportunities to showcase both local and visiting artists.
Specialized Maker Spaces
Purpose-built spaces will support a wide range of artistic disciplines, including a 1,500-square-foot ceramics studio and 1,100-square-foot fused glass studio, along with dedicated spaces for jewelry, textiles, and painting.
These studios will support artists, demonstrations, classes, and hands-on creative experiences.
Museum & Havre de Grace Historical Artifacts
A 1,100-square-foot museum will celebrate the history and stories of Havre de Grace, highlighted through the Collection of Allen Fair and other exhibits that connect visitors with the community’s past.
Classrooms & Workshop Space
A dedicated 3D digital printing lab will introduce another dimension of making and creative technology to the Center.
Two multifunction classrooms will provide flexible space for workshops, classes, demonstrations, educational programs, and activities for learners of different ages and skill levels.
Artist Studios
The facility will include five private artist studios available for rent, providing working artists with dedicated creative space and bringing an active artist presence to the Center.
Retail Shop Featuring Pieces by Local Artists
A dedicated retail shop will give visitors an opportunity to discover and purchase work from local artists and makers, extending the Center’s support of artists beyond its galleries and studios.
